pledges of support

Waltham Forest is the first London Borough of Culture in 2019

Thank you Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, residents, businesses and our creative communities that got behind Waltham Forest’s bid and helped us achieve this spectacular prize. Over 14,000 people pledged their support to help bring this amazing award home.

Since winning the bid we have been busy working on the plans for next year and will make the first major announcements later on this year, however, there will be plenty of ways for you to get involved before then. The Borough of Culture cannot be created or delivered without the people of Waltham Forest so make sure you sign up to our mailing list and be the first to hear about any opportunities.

We have announced our Fellowship Funding programme and how to volunteer and our team will be at the Get Together events throughout the summer to answer any questions you might have.

Please support your Cultural programme and continue to share your favourite parts of Waltham Forest with hashtags #wfculture19 #mylocalculture or contact us at wfculture@walthamforest.gov.uk.
