Due to popular demand, we have extended the opening hours for Artemisia at Wood Street Library.
The painting, presented as part of E17 Art Trail, Self Portrait as Saint Catherine of Alexandria (about 1615–17) by the celebrated artist of the Italian Baroque, Artemisia Gentileschi is currently on display at Wood Street Library in Walthamstow. For the next two weekends, we have extended the opening hours of Wood Street Library offering the opportunity for more people to see this incredible artwork.
The opening times for weekend viewings are:
- Sat 8 June – 10am-6pm
- Sun 9 June – 10am-4pm
- Sat 15 June – 10am-6pm
- Sun 16 June – 10am-4pm
Wood Street Library is the final stop of a grand tour for the painting that the National Gallery as been showing across the UK. So far the artwork has visited a Yorkshire GP surgery, a Newcastle girls high school, a Glasgow Women’s Library and a women’s prison.
June is bursting at the seams with incredible visual arts across the borough and Artemisia joins not only a jam-packed E17 Art Trail but also Art Night, Ways of Seeing and more ambitious visual art projects.
