Cultural Leadership Programme opens

Applications are now being accepted for the Cultural Leadership Programme!

The Cultural Leadership Programme has pledged to enable 100 Waltham Forest residents aged 16-25 to become the next generation of inspiring cultural leaders.

Through a variety of work experience opportunities, workshops, leadership training and talks, trainees will develop the skills and entrepreneurial resilience that is required for the modern workplace, building networks of creative organisations and businesses that are vital to navigating and influencing the cultural industries.

A key strength of Waltham Forest, and the bid supported by 14,000 of our residents, is the diversity within the borough. This diversity is not reflected within the creative sector, both within Waltham Forest, across London and in the UK as a whole.

The Cultural Leadership Programme encourages applications from individuals passionate about the creative industries from all backgrounds. The programme also aims to create a step change in the way that young people are engaged in the cultural industries, ensuring that women and individuals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups (BAME) and lower socio-economic backgrounds are represented.

Trainees will not only have the chance to work and network with some of the industry’s trailblazers, but will build a personalised programme that tailors work and mentoring opportunities to the individual’s needs and areas of interest. The programme will support those in full or part-time employment as well as those still studying.

If you are interested in getting involved, either as a trainee or as a work experience provider, please email the Cultural Leadership Programme team.
