Five E17 Art Trail places to visit this weekend

Featuring thousands of artists and hundreds of exhibitions and events it can be difficult to know where to begin when trying to decide what to see on the E17 Art Trail. Here are our top tips for things to see this weekend on Saturday 8 June.

Location 31 - Walden Studios, 95a Lynmouth Road

At Walden Studios there is not one but four artists and makers opening their studios and waiting to show you their creative practice. We are particularly looking forward to seeing Japanese woodblock prints courtesy of Walden Press, who will also be displaying other materials made using their wonderful letterpress

Location 56 - Belgrave Furniture Works, 56-58 Boundary Road

An exhibition by local craft practitioners who have reused historic headstocks from St Mary's Church to make something new. (Pictured). This creative project celebrates the histroy, heritage and creativity of Waltham Forest.

Location 141 - Upper Walthamstow Studios, 15 upper Walthamstow Road  

A group of artists from Walthamstow open their studios to show their work and what a show it promises to be. Among the group there are painters, photographers and sculptors all working along different themes and ideas. Artists featured include Sharon Drew, Mark Sowden and others, 

Location 161 - BAT Studio, Unit 16, Ravenswood Industrial Estate

You are cordially invited to join the inaugural session of the Hackney Swingers' Club (E17 branch). Come a long, swing and leave all your troubles behind.

Location 4 - Yonder, 4-6a Hookers Road 

End your evening with a night of food, drink, installations, performances and late night dancing. Artists have taken over Yonder Climbing Centre and transformed the space into a creative party space and you are invited to party until late and celebrate the E17 Art Trail.

This is just a small list of so many amazing things happening over this weekend and until 16 June. If you are unsure where to start on the trail our advice is to just grab your guide and dive right in. You won't be disapointed.
