Try your hand at traditional sheet metal forming techniques: chasing and repoussé.
Choose from a selection of designs before marking out and drawing on sheet metal in light relief bringing the design to life. You will learn how to support the metal material so that you can work with a hammer and punch without causing damage in a skilful and controlled way. Leave with a beautifully decorated tin plate to hang in your home. This decorative metalworking class has been developed in collaboration with Lucie Gledhill and Jessica Jue from Walthamstow based jewellery and silversmithing workshop Made by Ore.
On weekday evenings & Saturday mornings, throughout Atomic 50, Blackhorse Workshop will be running specialist metalworking classes for people ages 16+. Against the incredible backdrop of the Atomic 50 factory, you’ll be introduced to new techniques and ways to work with metal.
