Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture is hosting R.A.P party and supersizing it! With an evening of 20 poets, four DJ’s and four amazing venues all on Walthamstow’s famous Ravenswood Estate.
Neither a club night nor poetry reading, rave nor literary event, Inua Ellams' R.A.P Party is an unashamedly nostalgic, fun, no clutter, no fuss, evening of hip-hop inspired poems and favourite hip-hop songs.

Group 1: Inua Ellams, Jade Anouka, Zia Ahmed, Remi Graves, Julian Knxx and DJ Alex Session
Group 2: Theresa Lola, Rishi Dastidar, Rakaya Esime Fetuga, Ollie O’Neill, Sandeep Parmer and DJ Antonia Odunlami and (Worldwide FM)
Group 3: Kareem Parkins Brown, Destiny Adeyemi, Caleb Femi, Amaal Said, Nick Makoha and DJ - Lex Amor
Group 4: Belinda Zhawi, Joe Dunthorne, Eleanor Penny, Yomi Sode, Amani Saeed and DJ - Sid Mercutio
All line-up groups will play two venues. Participants will be able to move around all four sites. The site will operate with wristband entry into each venue. Each venue has a set capacity and so entry cannot be guaranteed.
Born in Nigeria in 1984, Inua Ellams is an internationally touring poet, playwright, performer, graphic artist and designer. He is an ambassador for the Ministry of Stories and has published four books of poetry: Candy Coated Unicorns And Converse All Stars, Thirteen Fairy Negro Tales, The Wire-Headed Heathen and #Afterhours.
Theresa Lola is a British Nigerian Poet and Workshop Facilitator. She is a Barbican Young Poet Alumni. She was shortlisted for the 2016 Bridport Poetry Prize and 2016 London Magazine Poetry Prize. She was a highly commended winner for the 2016 Charles Causley Poetry Prize. In 2017 she won 2017 Hammer and Tongue National Slam.
