The installation will bring the wilds of the marshes to life, exploring our relationship with nature and Waltham Forest as the ‘Lungs of London’.
Using the hexagonal geometry of frozen water as the basis for the design, water molecules will be made from recycled plastic and LED lights and be suspended in the marshes, gently changing colour.
Visitors will be able to walk through the installation and immerse themselves in the molecule lights, as a reminder of how we are both at once connected to nature and part of it too. Together, the lights will look like thousands of water droplets suspended in the air representing each child in the borough.
Take a moment to explore, to revel in the wild and consider your relationship with nature and the forest.
