Word Soul will be leading three spoken-word workshops; confidence-boosting endeavours that will explore themes of mental health, identity, and bravery.
You will be taken through the exciting process of creative writing and positive expression through 3 weekly workshops with practitioners Patrick Evans and Jude Owusu, exploring writing and performance techniques in a safe space for budding poets, performers or anyone looking to get into Spoken Word Poetry.
The programme will culminate in a live showcase at CRATE St James Street where you can share your newly created work.

Patrick is a Spoken Word poet, performer, educator, and mental health soldier based in Walthamstow. His creative endeavours have spread from schools to stage and as a leader of various workshops. Patrick is the founder and host of ‘Word Soul’ a live Spoken Word and free expression event that runs in Waltham Forest. The theme of mental health issues is often at the foreground of Patricks work in Spoken Word in his attempt to remove the stigma that comes with it help people speak out. The work continues.
Jude is an actor, poet and creative based in Walthamstow. Jude has performed poetry at Word Soul and other events but more notably has had a highly successful career as an actor from stage to screen. He is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company having performed with the RSC in productions of ‘Julius Caesar’, ‘Comedy of Errors’ and the title role in ‘Tamburlaine’ as well as appearing in television roles in ‘Father Brown’ and ‘The Hollow Crown’. Jude most recently appeared in ‘Merry Wives of Windsor’ at the Globe Theatre.
