The KIT KITE is brought to you by Blackhorse Workshop and delivers you the tools and materials to build your own free flying kite.
We challenge you to design, construct and fly your own. Channel your message to the world, dedicate it to your hero and showcase your design and making skills.
KIT KITE is a specially designed activity kit, created by local making experts, Blackhorse Workshop. Inspired by Japanese kite making traditions, this simple Kimono (sode) kite is made using a lashed stick frame, introducing traditional fastening techniques and light weight parachute material.
We’d say you’re never too old for kites, so whether you build one for yourself, a friend, or come together as a team, register online from the 1st -15th June.
Sign up at our website by making a minimum £1 donation to local charity Mind Waltham Forest and we’ll deliver your kit to get started. But hurry there’s only limited kits available!
You then have two weeks to design and make your kite, and upload for display in our online gallery. We’ll be sending you ideas and inspiration as we collectively get to work on creating these flying symbols of renewed hope and freedom.
Take it for a test flight and share your picture with us on our socials.
