Part of The People's Forest season

In Flying Solo: Triple Bill three international dance artists with roots in the UK, Ghana and the Caribbean explore their artistry in relation to home, their roots and the core of who they are.

They come together to probe that core, in environments far from home. The People’s Forest will be the ultimate test, bringing them into the forest, traditionally a place of mystery and fear.

How do we know ourselves, be ourselves, remain ourselves? How do we grow by meeting different places, different people, and stay true? Maybe first we must get lost, in the forest; honestly, openly, fiercely.

Soloists Tyrone Isaac-Stuart, hip-hop, contemporary dancer, lyricist and saxophonist, Hayley Matthews contemporary dancer and vocalist and Nii-Tete Yartey Contemporary and Traditional African dancer, will take you on a journey into the forest.

Meet at Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge, volunteers will take you to the Forest to meet them.

Flying Solo: Triple Bill is part of The People's Forest season - a series of events exploring our relationship with Epping Forest, interrogating the deep bond we have with forests and woodland, and how this relationship is culturally determined.
