Retreat from the hustle and bustle of stressful city life and spend a Mindful morning in the beautiful Walthamstow Wetlands.

What better way to spend an autumn morning than walking in beautiful Walthamstow Wetlands, filled with reservoirs, open green spaces, hedgerows and wildlife. Experiencing Mindful walking and practices within a beautiful environment can create calming, restorative feelings and a sense of well-being. Being Mindful in nature invites us to reawaken to our senses. Liz Keates will facilitate this Mindful walk and guide attendees to be present and deepen their connection and appreciation of the natural world.

This event is suitable for beginners and those more experienced. It’s also a lovely opportunity to meet with local likeminded people.

What to expect: The majority of the walk will be held in silence (other than the guidance of the walk leader). There will also be some time spent in complete silence, without guidance, allowing a connection to nature, the elements and yourself more deeply. Please click here for more information on what to expect.

Clothing: This event will go ahead come rain or shine! Please consult the weather forecast before leaving home and bring appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Please read before booking: This event is suitable for those who are 18 years and able to stand and walk comfortably for 2 hours. Please note that this event is not suitable for those with severe mental health difficulties or if you feel it would be difficult or distressing to remain silent for 2 hours.

The focus of the Mindful walks is to experience being more present in nature. The walk is at a reasonably slow pace, most of the time. It will be in silence, other than the mindful guidance, without any particular focus such as exercise, bird watching or photography. This allows attendees to experience the natural world, and their responses to it, as it unfolds in each moment in a non-striving way. Attendees are of course very welcome to take photos, chat and continue with other suitable activities within the Wetlands, such as photography, once this event has finished. Please note that dogs are not permitted at Walthamstow Wetlands.

Please do not hesitate to contact Liz Keates if you have questions or queries you’d like answered before you book: [email protected]
