Whipps Cross University Hospital
An inclusive music and visual arts project at Whipps Cross Hospital’s Acorn Ward. Kazzum Arts will collaboratively work with children and young people providing joyful activities and shared experiences, through creating an ambitious installation and display engaging patients, their families, visitors, and NHS workers.
The project will focus on imaginative approaches to visualising positive mental health and wellbeing, creating a fun and playful state of calm, to support relaxation. Kazzum Arts provides opportunities for children and young people to explore their creativity at times in their lives when they are most in need of support.
We believe that creativity is a human right, access to which is never more important than in childhood and young adulthood which is why we work hard to remove the barriers that prevent young people’s creative engagement.
We facilitate innovative, playful and multi-disciplinary projects which encourage social and reflective skills, enabling young people to foster positive relationships and experience an increased sense of wellbeing. Our projects lay the developmental and social groundwork for happier, healthier futures and are informed by an understanding of adverse childhood experiences and their impact upon child mental health.
