Saturday 11 September
Walthamstow
Presented by Daytimers, No.ID and Chalo, a brand new festival celebrating the best of the new South Asian underground is coming to Uplands Business Park this September.
Featuring the work of ethnically South Asian artists, Dialled In aims to include a broad range of creatives, with the focal point of the programme being a one-off 1000-person day and night celebration.
On 11 September, venues across Uplands Business Park will play host to a variety of sounds that aim to demystify what South Asian musicians are capable of creating. Nabihah Iqbal’s singular version of shoegaze guitar-heavy instrumentation sits neatly alongside fellow live act Kapil Seshasayee who brings with him a full four-piece rock band. Nadia Javed’s solo punk show is sure to raise the tempo with emerging talents Nayana IZ and Surya Sen’s quick-fire raps set to complement the energy. With a backing band coupled with his commanding voice, Shivum Sharma is an act not to miss while Dialled In premieres new live sets with special guests. At Dialled In, audiences can expect to hear Auntie Flo and Sarathy Korwar (as Rathisa) premiering for the first time ever their recent collaborative work in an intimate setting.
The DJs throughout the event will be taking us on an exploration of genres: Ahadadream will bring forth his taste in percussive club music while NAINA is sure to raise the temperature with her signature 160 BPM sound slotting next to the hard techno R.O.S.H has become renowned for on the European club circuit. Acts like Manuka Honey, Almass Badat, Aisha Mirza, Anu and Arthi will showcase their broad range of tastes, showing yet again how hard it is to box in South Asian DJs.
