Writers from The People's Forest edition of The Willowherb Review will be sharing their writing and sharing ideas around connecting with the forest, their experiences being writers of colour and the joys of nature writing.
Four writers will share their own experiences and inspirations at this special literary event as part of The People's Forest programme. Each writer was selected earlier this year to create new work inspired by Epping Forest for a special edition of The Willowherb Review. The resulting work explored themes of environmentalism, spiritualism, nostalgia and more in a variety of ways.
Featured writers include:
- Kaliane Bradley
- Zahra Vawda
- Mohammed Zaahidur Rahman
We will also have music from Deeds throughout the evening. Deeds hosts a monthly show on Netil Radio exploring the joins between jazz, soul, hiphop, funk & the electronic music. Hear some of their music here.
The Willowherb Review is an online journal that provides a platform for emerging writers of colour to explore nature and the environment bringing the forest in all its seasons and glory come to life.
The Willowherb Review event is part of The People's Forest season - a series of events exploring our relationship with Epping Forest, interrogating the deep bond we have with forests and woodland, and how this relationship is culturally determined.
