Challenging stereotypes and opening minds the Inside out festival will transform two care homes in the borough into exciting new art venues.
A celebration of creativity and co-creation residents, professional artists and nearby makers will come together to develop a programme of large scale art installations. Residents will pair with local younger neighbours. Creating more than art, Inside Out Festival will form friendships and create relationships that transcend generations.
Taking place in Leyton and Leytonstone, Inside Out Festival is looking for local makers in their 20s and 30s to be creative with their older neighbours.
Are you a Waltham Forest local eager to exercise your creativity? Keen to get to know your older neighbours while exploring a variety of art forms?
Magic Me invites you to get involved with Inside Out Festival this November, and connect with your local care home resident neighbours through creative making, conversation and community spirit! This is a unique opportunity to get creative and co-produce original art works with your local older neighbours to be exhibited in a public exhibition at each residential art venue, through creative workshops led by local artist Natalie Keymist, artist Sue Mayo, local artist Hassan Vawda and artist Ben Connors. Choose between two very special artist residencies.
